Scholarships-Sharing the Miracle of the Games
T
he FGG's scholarship program works behind the scenes and
not just in Gay Games years. In the current giving cycle, the target was to raise USD 100,000 to bring 50 participants to
Cleveland.
Here at Gay Games 9, the FGG has awarded 21 full scholarships to individuals from Croatia, Russia, South Africa, Macedonia, Brazil, Nepal, and Slovenia. In addition, 22 partial scholarships have been awarded to people from Kazakhstan, Argentina (a team of 20 football players), and the Philippines.
There were hundreds of scholarship applications, most of which had to be denied. To help in the future, please consider making a donation at http://bit.ly/fgg-scholarships

INTERNATIONAL RAINBOW MEMORIAL RUN
This event is held every four years by the LGBT running community in conjunction with the Gay Games. The Rainbow Run raises awareness for AIDS and breast cancer by carrying the Rainbow. Flag on a symbolic "torch run" to the Gay Games host city. The 2014 edition will culminate at the Opening Ceremony. The 2014 Rainbow Run is presented by the American Run for the End of AIDS, the FGG, the Keith Haring Foundation, the NAMES Project Foundation, International Front Runners, the International AIDS Prevention Initiative, LGBT Pride organizations, and participants from previous Gay Games host cities. THE FEDERATION FLAG
The arrival of this flag in the Opening Ceremony symbolizes the mission the Federation of Gay Games has given to its hosts in Cleveland + Akron to produce Gay Games 9. The flag will be borne by this year's award winners. At the closing ceremony, the flag will be passed to the host committee of the next Gay Games, Paris 2018.

FGG MEMORIAL QUILT
At each Gay Games, a new memorial
quilt in honor of those in the Gay Games family lost to illness, accident and age is created and inaugurated. Along with quilts from past Gay Games, and the official FGG memorial quilt,
it is exhibited during the week of the Gay Games as part of the Gay Games memorial program. We thank Tom Waddell Award finalist Gert McMullen for producing our memorial quilts, which during Gay Games 9 will be exhibited
at the Festival Village.
